KIAT
Hailing from Singapore, DJ Kiat is a cornerstone of Southeast Asia’s bass music scene, known for his adventurous mixes and deep, dub-driven sets that captivate dance floors and reflect the rich underground culture of his roots.
The adventurous themes in his work are closely linked to the artist’s fascination with emotions and freedom. His freeform creative approaches have led him to develop work across multiple mediums—from painting on walls and canvases, to music for dance floors, theatrical stages and art installations, to works that blur the line between art and design for brands and cultural institutions.
With nearly two decades of experience, Kiat has shared stages with music heavyweights such as Digital, Storm, Marcus Intalex, Tony Coleman, Goldie, Flying Lotus, D-Styles, Photek, Africa Hitech, GasLampKiller and many more. He has performed at both music trendsetters clubs such as the Cakeshop in Seoul to major festivals like Locus Drum and Bass Festival (Indonesia), alongside acts such as Ivy Lab, Fabio, Makato. In addition, he’s also been dropping eclectic sets on Australia’s Let Them Eat Cake Festival, Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in France, and the legendary Low End Theory and Brainfeeder Nights in LA.
Kiat has developed work internationally and locally. Selected projects include music commissions for Cake Theatre, The Peranakan Museum, Swarovski, Adidas, ArtScience Museum, Dazed, Versus, Dior, Selfridges, Singapore Tourism Board, Nike, Beams and SHOWstudio amongst others.
Kiat’s sets are a journey into the depths of low end adventures, weaving influences from hip-hop, dub to jungle and drum and bass plus everything in between. Whether performing solo or as part of Singapore’s Syndicate collective, Kiat’s commitment to exploring new musical territories has earned him a loyal following across Asia and beyond.
