Syndicate makes its ArtScience Late debut with HA-HA OK – a collaboration between Kiat, Brandon Tay, and contemporary dance maestro Lee Mun Wai.
The site-specific work is both a distillation of, and a response to the current Singapore landscape. Amidst all the unsettling issues bubbling to the surface, the appropriate response might be to laugh. HAHA, OK.
Lee Mun Wai will present a quirky combination of spoken text, written word and lyrical improvised movement, set against a soundscape by Kiat that combines new material from his forthcoming album Ataraxia, embedded in unreleased ambient experiments, while Brandon Tay will explore the concept of laughter through a dynamic series of interactive graphic frameworks.
